(HALIFAX, N.S.) - Acadia Axewomen soccer midfielder Alexandra Scovil and Dalhousie Tigers men's soccer keeper Ben Grondin have been named the Subway AUS Athletes of the Week for their respective performances for this past week.

Alexandra Scovil of the Acadia Axewomen soccer team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport female athlete of the week for the week ending Sept. 9, 2018.
A fourth-year midfielder from Hubley, N.S., Scovil amassed four points in two weekend wins for the Axewomen to kick off the 2018 season.
She scored Acadia’s first two goals, including the eventual game-winner, in Friday night’s 4-0 win over the Mount Allison Mounties and was named Subway Player of the Game.
Sunday, the Axewomen downed the Saint Mary’s Huskies 6-0 in Halifax, N.S. Scovil scored Acadia’s second goal and assisted on their third.
Following the first weekend of play, she sits tied for first in the conference in goals, with three, and in points, with four.

Ben Grondin of the Dalhousie Tigers men’s soccer team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week for the week ending Sept. 9, 2018.
A second-year keeper from Calgary, Alta., Grondin posted two shutouts this past weekend, leading the Tigers to a 1-0-1 start to the regular season.
In Friday night’s home opener, he turned away all eight shots he faced to lead the Tigers to a 0-0 draw with Saint Mary’s. He was named Subway Player of the Game.
He was sharp again Sunday afternoon, making five saves in the Tigers’ 4-0 win over the Mount Allison Mounties in Sackville, N.B.
