X-Men hand Reds first regulation loss of season

The StFX X-Men now sit in third place in the AUS men's hockey standings after sweeping their weekend games, which included a 4-2 victory over the U Sports top ranked UNB Reds on Saturday night, handing the Reds their first regulation loss of the season. The X-Men also skated to a 6-3 victory at home over the UPEI Panthers on Friday evening.

The Saint Mary's Huskies also swept their weekend games, clinching a playoff position as they extended their record to 14-7-1 on the season. The Huskies hosted the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleus on Wednesday evening, earning a 4-2 win, then visited the Acadia Axemen on Saturday night, skating to a 5-2 victory.

Despite falling to the Huskies on Wednesday, the Aigles Bleus bounced back on Friday as they blanked the Axemen 2-0 in Wolfville. 

In other Friday night action, the Reds topped the Dalhousie Tigers 3-1 at the Halifax Forum.

After falling to the X-Men on Friday, the Panthers bounced back with a 5-3 win on the road over the Dalhousie Tigers Saturday evening.
