Huskies earn seventh straight win

The Saint Mary's Huskies look to take over the top spot of the AUS men's hockey standings, as they extended their win streak to seven over the weekend.

The Huskies hosted the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleus on Wednesday evening in Halifax, where they played to a 4-3 overtime victory. With a three-point outing, including the game winner, Hunter Garlent earned Subway Player of the game honours in the win.

The Huskies earned another overtime victory over the weekend as they topped the Acadia Axemen 2-1 in Wolfville on Friday night.

The StFX X-Men extended their win streak to three this weekend, which started with a 5-1 win over the UPEI Panthers on Tuesday evening. The X-Men then topped the league leading UNB Reds on Saturday night in a 3-2 victory. 

The Reds split their weekend games, as they blanked the Dalhousie Tigers 4-0 on Friday night at the Halifax Forum.

The Aigles Bleus bounced back from their loss to the Huskies as they played to a 3-1 win over the Axemen on Saturday. 

With a 5-4 shootout win over the Tigers on Saturday night, the Panthers secured the final spot in the AUS men's hockey playoffs.
